Plagiarism Policy

Indonesia Journal of Marine Tourism (IJoMT) maintains a strict policy against plagiarism to uphold academic integrity and ensure the originality of published works.

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the act of presenting someone else's work, ideas, data, or words as one’s own without proper acknowledgment. This includes both direct copying and substantial paraphrasing without citation.

2. Screening Process

All submitted manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using reliable plagiarism detection software prior to the peer-review process. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding the acceptable threshold 25% will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright.

3. Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions are entirely original. Proper citations must be given for all sources, including previous work by the same author (self-citation).

4. Consequences of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the review or publication process, the manuscript will be rejected. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be retracted, and the authors may be blacklisted from future submissions.
