Ethics for Reviewer

Reviewers of the Indonesia Journal of Marine Tourism (IJMT) are expected to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and professionalism in the peer-review process. The following ethical guidelines must be observed:

1. Confidentiality

All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, discuss, or use the manuscript content for personal advantage or research purposes.

2. Objectivity and Fairness

Reviews should be conducted objectively, fairly, and constructively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should provide clear, reasoned feedback to help authors improve their work.

3. Conflict of Interest

Reviewers must declare any potential conflicts of interest (e.g., financial, institutional, or personal relationships) and decline to review a manuscript where such conflicts exist.

4. Timeliness

Reviewers are expected to complete their reviews within the agreed timeframe. If they are unable to meet the deadline, they should promptly inform the editorial team.

5. Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and notify the editor of any suspected plagiarism or unethical research practices.

By adhering to these principles, reviewers contribute to maintaining the quality, credibility, and academic integrity of the Indonesia Journal of Marine Tourism.
