Editor's Decision Process

The editorial decision process at Indonesia Journal of Marine Tourism (IJoMT) is designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and academic quality in all publication decisions. The process includes the following key steps:

1. Initial Manuscript Screening

Upon submission, the Editor-in-Chief or assigned editor conducts an initial assessment to ensure the manuscript fits the journal’s scope, meets formatting requirements, and adheres to ethical standards.

2. Plagiarism Check

The manuscript is screened using plagiarism detection software. If the similarity index is high, the paper will be returned for revision or rejected.

3. Peer Review Assignment

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent for double-blind peer review to at least two independent reviewers based on subject expertise.

4. Review Evaluation

After receiving reviewers’ comments, the editor evaluates the feedback and makes one of the following decisions:

   a. Accept

   b. Minor Revision

   c. Major Revision

   d. Reject

5. Author Revision

If revisions are required, authors are given a specific timeframe to revise and resubmit their manuscript. Revised submissions may be sent back to reviewers for re-evaluation if needed.

6. Final Decision

The editor makes the final decision based on the revised manuscript and reviewers’ input. Once accepted, the manuscript proceeds to the production stage.

7. Publication

Accepted manuscripts are edited, typeset, and scheduled for online publication in the upcoming issue.

This process is overseen by the Editorial Board to ensure integrity, impartiality, and quality in every published article.
