This study aims to examine the competence of baristas at Cafe Aaron Teras Coffee Makassar, with a focus on technical knowledge, skills in mixing high-quality drinks, and ethical service to customers. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data was collected through observation, interviews, and literature study. The findings show that baristas with in-depth knowledge and high skills in coffee making, as well as good service ethics, significantly improve service quality and customer satisfaction. Continuous training and competency development of baristas were also identified as important factors in maintaining the reputation and competitiveness of coffee shops. Limitations of this study include limited coverage to one location and qualitative methods. Further research is recommended to expand the coverage and use a mixed approach to gain a more comprehensive understanding.
