Rantepao Square holds a strategic role as a center for social, cultural, and economic interaction, as well as a framework for urban tourism in North Toraja Regency. Despite serving as a public space and city icon, its current condition faces constraints in terms of layout, infrastructure quality, incomplete accessibility, inconsistent facilities, and inadequate visitor management, which negatively impacts the visitor experience and the local economy. This research aims to evaluate the existing facility conditions and design a facility layout that enhances the effectiveness of Rantepao Square. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a comparative analysis between existing conditions and facility design, supported by data from field observations and needs interviews. The findings indicate that although the square is actively used, the quality of facilities such as pedestrian paths, restrooms, shaded areas, and information systems is still below standard and not inclusive enough, and the multipurpose building and museum located in the area are not being utilized to their full potential. A redesign strategy is proposed to address these issues thru physical improvements such as new pathways and the addition of shaded areas, as well as the integration of new facilities including the Pongtiku Museum, Art Center, Regional Library, and Management Room. The redesign of this facility serves as a destination management strategy that bridges the gap between current conditions and the needs of modern visitors, strengthens local identity, ensures sustainable area governance, and increases tourist visits.
