ANALYSIS OF THE READINESS OF THE LOCAL EVENT SOUTH SULAWESI INDUSTRY IN IMPLEMENTING THE CONCEPT OF GREEN EVENT TOURISM

Abstract

This study examines the level of readiness of the local event industry in South Sulawesi in implementing the principles of Green Event Tourism. The methods used were surveys and in-depth interviews with event participants, local governments, and local communities. The results of the study show that enthusiasm for the implementation of the green event concept is quite high, supported by a commitment to waste management, the use of renewable energy, and socio-cultural strategies. However, there are still obstacles in the form of limited infrastructure, uneven understanding, and weak policy support. This study recommends increasing human resource capacity, strengthening local regulations, and cross-sectoral collaboration as strategic steps towards the implementation of sustainable events in South Sulawesi.
